I love music. I love making music more than anything in the world. I love the ‘business’ of music. I love the hustle of the release. I love the challenge of the writing process. I love the studio. But it all costs so much money. And nowadays, the return on a song, even one that does well, is so small, that it makes music as an independent artist an extremely difficult line of work to continue in. The competition is fierce, and the big companies are churning out disposable content with such ferocity that many real artists are slowly disappearing underneath the heavy mass of the ‘Machine’, with no ability to keep themselves afloat. I don’t want to stop making music, and I hope you don’t want me to either.
